this afternoon i went to hastings-on-hudson with emmy and rob to run the 7th annual terry ryan memorial 10k. that morning emmy ran the race to deliver 4 miler in central park, so she used this hilly course as a training run. rob and i finished in 40:50, and 41:43, respectively - good enough for 3rd place in our respective age groups. emmy's 49:00 got her a second place age group award (the second age group award of the day for her).
race report to follow, and will add link to official results when they are posted.
after the race we drove over to white plains and had some beer to celebrate that age group hardware at the lazy boy saloon (no recliners, but great craft beers - and football on high def).
a raw, blustery day to run a hilly 10k (the course included part of the yonkers marathon route).
emmy and rob (cold enough for long sleeves).
rob and me.
rob, ned, and emmy (inside hastings high school gym).
check out the photo gallery posted at journal news.
as well as their coverage of the race.
