"spirit of the marathon" t.v. premiere on the documentary channel last night

what a great surprise it was to find "spirit of the marathon" on television last night. apparently it was the t.v. premiere of the film on the documentary channel (which, here, is a/k/a one of our local pbs stations). i caught this film last winter, on the big screen, in a theatre full of local runners. what an experience that was!

the film didn't lose any of it's appeal on the small screen. although, since i knew how the story went, i had no qualms about switching back and forth between the film and monday night football (steelers crushed the redskins - a wonderful present for giant fans).

this is the second marathon related film to find its way to a screen during nyc marathon week. in fact, it's still possible to catch the limited release of "run for you life: the fred lebow story," at the village cinema east for the next couple of days. if you haven't seen that one, it's a perfect way to wrap up the nyc marathon experience.

I accidentally caught part of this last night. Would love to see the whole thing. Need to figure out how.
