i woke up to some seriously good karma this morning! not only had the first wave of the rain storm moved on, but it took the wind along with it. after some coffee, i headed out to take advantage of the lull in the rain. surprisingly, except for the wetness and humidity, it was great running weather!
it took me 1:14:36, a 7:28 pace, to get in those 10 miles. my 6 mile split, 45:14, a 7:32 pace, was in-line with my daily 6 milers this week. my 8 mile split, 59:38, a 7:28 pace, was a minute faster than yesterday's 8 miler. for comparison against tomorrow's race, i did 9 miles in 1:07:10 - a good target for the 15k. which makes me wonder, i hope that i didn't leave my 15k race out on the post road this morning.
then, a couple hours after i finished, the rain and wind swept back in for part two of this dreary weather system. but, happily, with 42 miles logged so far, and 9 miles from the race, a 60 mile target for the week is still a realistic possibility - if i can get in a solid post-race run tomorrow afternoon or evening. i'd even go back out for another 4 to 6 miles tonight, if the rain moves out early enough.
maybe that good karma will stick around
