it's really hard to believe how fast the year has flown already! new years eve seemed like yesterday, and now it's april! in the first 3 months of the year i ran 15 races; 5 of which were a marathon and 4 ultras. april includes another marathon and a pair of ultras. strangely enough, i didn't plan on that many long events - it's just how the year unfolded!
i'm seriously looking forward to the boston marathon in just over 2 weeks! it'll be my first time back since the 2008 race. just inches behind the nyc marathon, it's my second favorite event at any distance! with so many friends also making the trip this year, it's also turning into one great reunion!
the following weekend i head back to the sybil ludington 50k (a back to back w/boston that i've done a couple of times over the years). what makes this year a little tougher is the lake waramaug 50 miler the next day! that's my plan right now, but i may come to my senses and drop down to the 50k at waramaug.
in the meantime, i'm volunteering at the nyrr scotland run and, the following weekend, running the scarsdale 15k. immediately after the 15k, will head to long island for the annual b.u.s. awards brunch. b.u.s. is hosting a three hour run before the brunch, but my hometown race edges out that one on the schedule.
on the downside, given katie's full schedule of lacrosse games and field hockey camp, there's no room this month to run any races with her dad :(
here's what the schedule looks like:
4/3- scotland run - [volunteer]
4/3 - bunny boogie, 3m - [w/katie]
4/11 - scarsdale 15k
4/11 - b.u.s. awards brunch
4/19 - boston marathon
4/24 - sybil ludington 50k
4/25 - lake waramaug 50m
as always, if you're at any of these events - say hello!
update: i volunteered at packet pick-up for the scotland run. that freed up saturday morning and i got to run bunny boogie 3 miler in darien with katie!

Any chance you're also doing the Hopkinton Hop before Boston? Figured that was just your kind of event!
I was planning on doing it, but now I'm running the Charlottesville Marathon on Saturday the 17th, and I think 3x26.2 in three days is just too much for me!
Frank, we met briefly at Caumsett, I'm a friend of Tony's. I'm doing Lake Waramaug 100k, my first attempt at any distance over 50m. You have done this race before right ? Any pointers?
Peter
