with february in the books (and having barely eked out 200 miles thanks a record snowfall spread out over the 28 days), march opens and closes with ultras - the caumsett park 50k to start and the umstead 100 mile endurance run to end the month. the middle of the month isn't as easy to map out. only the nyrr 8k and the celebrate life half marathon are definite.
the celebrate life half marathon is the only "new" event this month. i had planned to run that one last year but weather related rescheduling had me run the boston build-up 25k instead of making the trip to rock hill. preceding celebrate life is the nyrr 8,000 (and my 4th credit toward the 9 needed for the 2011 nyc marathon). that day also includes the final world lung foundation group training run for the nyc half.
the following weekend remains open. i haven't decided what event, if any, to include the weekend before the umstead 100 miler. the big event that weekend is the nyc half marathon - but i'm not sure whether to run it (i've done it 3 times) or cheer on the world lung foundation running team instead. either way, i'll be in the city for it :D
here's what it looks like so far:
3/7 - caumsett park 50k
3/13 - nyrr 8000
3/14 - celebrate life half marathon
3/21 - nyc half marathon
3/27 - umstead 100 mile endurance run
as always, if you're at one of them, say hello!!
