2016 Stratford Sweetheart Run: Race Photos & Results

Cold - but nowhere near as cold as Sunday - reason enough to get the miles in on Saturday!  Despite the frigid weather, the roads were clear and it was a great morning to run (especially when the race was just 3 miles, instead of it's typical 4)! This was the first year the Sweetheart Run was a 3 miler - the 19 previous years it was run as a 4 miler.

While I appreciated the shorter distance this morning, I miss the extra mile!  Not sure the 4 mile course will ever be put back in service.  But regardless of the distance, this is one race to have on your annual schedule (I've been running it since 2006 - with only 1 or 2 missed years).

As for this race, my 21:54 was good enough for first place in my age group!  That was a very pleasant surprise!  The 7:18 pace (thanks to some walking up the hill) was off the 7:11 pace at the Freezer 5K last weekend.  But this course is a bit tougher.  But, even better than the age group wind,  - Emmy and I won the combined age group :D

Here are the official results.

The rest of my photos are up on Facebook.

2012 norwalk summer series 3 miler: race photos and results

the 2012 norwalk summer series kicked off this morning with the 3 miler. in a twist, i ran more miles on the track (2 warm-up and 2 cool-down) than i did for the race! i made my sub 21 minute goal with a 20:50, 6:57 pace. as a bonus, i came in 5th in my age group :O

afterwards, rob reminded me that last year the day after the 3 miler we drove up to the mt. greylock trail run. this year will skip the 3 hour drive north and do the rowayton fathers day run instead :D

here are the race results from hitek.

2011 norwalk summer series 3 miler: race photos and results

the 2011 norwalk summer series kicked off this morning with the 3 miler at norwalk high school. aside from the humidity, it was a great morning to run. while i missed my sub-21 target (21:14) and was well off my 2010 finish, i still had a great time. just a handful of the familiar faces: emmy, rob, kate, roy, jeanette, tony, dan, hiro, yuki, evan, and don (our fearless rd).

this was the first of a pair of races this weekend. tomorrow, emmy, rob and i had to north adams, ma, to run the mt. greylock half. yuki and hiro will be there as well. from a short road race to a longish trail run, it makes for an interesting running weekend :D

here are the race results via hi-tek.
